Secure e-mail - Security that locks us out

No snake oil !

100% SSL/TLS

We offer simple, SSL/TLS Secured, IMAP4S/POP3S/SMTP. Reliable e-mail hosting with non-intrusive spam protection.

SPAM PROTECTION

Rayservers features OpenBSD spamd based greylisting and Realtime Black Lists (RBLs) which cut down spam 99%. RFC compliant legitimate servers are auto whitelisted . No mail disappears into blackholes. Email is not instant messaging.

Rayservers has a zero spam policy. If your ISP or mail server is blacklisted, your mail to our users will be rejected with information regarding the black list. Contact your ISP or delist your mail server. Rayservers RBL Stats. Rayservers Spamd Stats. Recently blocked servers are shown in the hourly stats with the link to follow to delist. Rather than use an ISP which is a known spam source, host your domain with us.

Whitelist your server. Publish an OpenSPF record, like we do, for all domains we host. We maintain a whitelist (OpenBSD PF spamd whitelist) which is automatically generated from a list of domains with SPF records and a manual list of mail servers.

100% open source end to end OpenPGP crypto cuts out spying. Quickly deploy OpenPGP to 1000's of mailboxes with our key server. 100% encrypted servers, 100% SSL connections.

FAQ: How do I change my e-mail password

Visit the e-mail control panel linked at the top of this page, login with your full email address and current password. Once logged in, click the blue Edit link beside your email address and set your new password, enter it again for confirmation and click submit.

If you have forgotten your password order a password reset. We verify the account holder by a phone call. We cannot reset your PGP password as you are in full control of your PGP keys.

FAQ: Email attachments on Webmail

Due to a bug in the upstream PHP+Webmail software, the webmail software is reporting that mail with attachments is not sent due to a timeout. Please carbon copy (cc)  your own email address and check that you got a copy. If you did, the mail was actually sent.

FAQ: About Security

True communication security happens on your computer.

The security product must be open source (no back doors).

The operating system and virus checker, if any, must be secure. If you must use Windows, use an open source virus checker like Clamwin.

Any message encryption must happen on your computer and the decryption on your correspondent's computer. OpenPGP satisfies these tests for email, OTR for instant message and ZRTP for voice. Lock us out!

Ubuntu Linux is the easiest to use open source operating system out there - easier than Mac or Windows. You can run Windows in a VirtualBox inside Ubuntu - at the same time. You can 100% encrypt the hard drive right from the alternate install CD. Ubuntu has OpenPGP, OTR, and ZRTP straight out of the box as well as a full office suite. You have nothing but your fear to lose.

Use the diceware method for secure, memorable passphrases. At least 5 words for 64 bit security. 10 word passphrases give you 128 bit security. For the technically savvy and impatient, a perl based diceware program is available. Use a decent cross platform password manager. Read Travis' Security Concepts.

FAQ: Why Pretty Good Privacy (PGP)?

Sovereignty, people vs citizens, corporations posing as legitimate government, intimidation and fraud from "public", corporate, "law enforcement" office, legal plunder, how prisoners fund America. Don't whine about the constitution. USvsUS. About security. All information provided under the Rayservers License and fit only for real men and women. Escape stupidity!

FAQ: Backups

We recommend that you create backup copies of important email. Although we use RAID 1 and other methods of protecting email stored with us, creating backups are your responsibility.

FAQ: I sent a test, it is not here yet!

To prevent spam, our servers use greylisting to verify that the sending SMTP server implements the internet SMTP standard. This results in a delay of up to 30 mins on the first email. Subsequent email will be 'instant' so long as sending server remains in compliance.

Remember, per its specification, email is not instant messaging.

Always verify that critical correspondence reaches by a phone call or instant message and a human response.
