When the Lord your God brings you into the land which you are going to possess, and has destroyed many nations before you, the Hittite, and the Gergeziite, and the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite. you:

and the LORD your God shall deliver them over to you, and you shall smite them utterly. Thou shalt not enter into league with them, nor show mercy to them

nor shall you make marriages with them. You shall not give your daughter to her son, nor shall you take her daughter to your son.

for he will turn away your son from following me, and that he may serve other gods.

rather you shall do these things to them: you shall destroy their altars, and break down their statues, and cut down their groves, and burn their graven images.

because you are a holy people to the Lord your God.
The Lord your God has chosen you to be his special people out of all the people on the earth.

Not because you surpassed all nations in number, the Lord is joined to you, and has chosen you, being the least of them all:

but because the Lord loved you, and kept the oath which he swore to your fathers: and he brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, out of the hand of Pharao, king of Egypt.

And you shall know that the Lord your God is a strong and faithful God, keeping covenant and mercy to those who love him and to those who keep his commandments for a thousand generations.

and rendering immediately to them that hate him, so that he destroys them, and defers them no longer; rendering immediately to them what they deserve.

Therefore keep the statutes, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day to do.

If after you hear these judgments, you will observe and do them, and the Lord your God will keep the covenant and the kindness which he swore to your fathers.

and he will love you, and will multiply, and will bless the fruit of your body, and the fruit of your land, your corn, and your wine, and your oil, and your herds, and the flocks of your sheep, upon the land which he swore to your fathers to give it to you.

Blessed shalt thou be among all people. There shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.

The Lord will take away from you all diseases, and will not bring on the evil diseases of Egypt, which you know, but will bring on you to all your enemies.

And you shall consume all the people which the Lord your God will deliver to you. Your eye will not spare them, nor will you serve their gods, lest they become your ruin.

If you say in your heart, 'These nations are more than I am, how can I destroy them?'

fear not, but remember what the Lord your God did to Pharaoh and to all the Egyptians,

the great plagues, which your eyes saw, and the signs and wonders, and the strong hand, and the outstretched arm, to bring you out the Lord your God: so will he do to all the peoples whom you fear.

Moreover the Lord your God will send hornets also among them, until he destroy and destroy all that have escaped thee, and have been able to escape.

You shall not be afraid of them, for the LORD your God is in the midst of you, a great and terrible God.

He will consume these nations in your sight by degrees and by degrees. You shall not be able to destroy them together, lest the beasts of the earth be multiplied against you.

And the Lord your God will deliver them in your sight, and kill them until they are destroyed.

And he will deliver their kings into your hand, and you will destroy their names from under heaven: no one will be able to stand before you until you have destroyed them.

You shall burn their images with fire: you shall not covet the silver and the gold, of which they were made, nor take any of them for yourself, lest you offend, because it is an abomination to your Lord.

And you shall not bring an idol into your house, lest you become accursed, even as it is. Thou shalt detest as filthiness, and shalt have as uncleanness and filth an abomination, because it is anathema.
