And Moses and the ancients of Israel commanded the people, saying: Keep all the commandments which I command you this day. And when you pass over the Jordan into the land which the Lord your God will give you, you shall set up great stones, and you shall plaster them with lime that you may be able to write upon them all the words of this law, when you have passed over the Jordan, to enter into the land which the Lord your God will give you, a land flowing with milk and honey, as he swore to your fathers. When you pass over the Jordan, set up the stones which I command you today on Mount Ebal, and you will plaster them with lime. And you shall build there an altar to the Lord your God of stones, which he has not touched, and of uncut and unpolished: and upon it you shall offer holocausts to the Lord your God, and you shall offer peace-offerings, and you shall eat them, and feast before the LORD your God. And you shall write on the stones all the words of this law very clearly. And Moses and the priests of the race of Levites said to all Israel: Hear, and hear, O Israel: this day thou hast become the people of the Lord thy God. you shall hear his voice, and do the commandments and the ordinances which I command you. And Moses commanded the people that day, saying, These shall stand upon mount Gerizim, when you have passed the Jordan, to bless the people: Simeon, Levi, Juda, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin. And over against them shall stand to curse in mount Ebal: Ruben, Gad, and Aser, and Zabulon, Dan, and Nephtali. And the Levites shall pronounce, and shall say to all the men of Israel with a loud voice: Cursed be the man who makes a graven or a molten image, an abomination to the Lord, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and shall put it in a secret place: and all the people shall answer and say, Amen. Cursed be he that honors not his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen. Cursed be he who removes his neighbor's landmark. And all the people shall say, Amen. Cursed be he that maketh the blind to wander out of the way: and all the people shall say: Amen. Cursed be he that perverts the judgment of the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow. And all the people shall say, Amen. Cursed be he who lies with his father's wife and uncovers his bed. And all the people will say, 'Amen!' Cursed be he who lies with any animal. And all the people will say, 'Amen!' Cursed be he who lies with his sister, the daughter of his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen. Cursed be he that lies with his mother in law: and all the people shall say, Amen. Cursed be he who strikes his neighbor in secret. And all the people will say, 'Amen!' Cursed be he who takes a bribe to slay an innocent person. And all the people will say, 'Amen!' Cursed be he who does not continue in the words of this law, and does not work them out. And all the people shall say, Amen.
