If there be a case between some, and they apply to judges, they shall give the palm of justice to him whom they perceive to be just, whom the wicked shall condemn of ungodliness. But if they see the offender worthy of stripes, they will knock him down, and cause him to be scourged before him. For the measure of sin shall be the measure of the stripes; only so that they do not exceed the number of forty; You shall not muzzle the ox while he treads your corn on the floor. And his name shall be called in Israel, The house of the shoeless. If two men have quarrels with one another, and one begins to quarrel with another, and the wife of another wishing to deliver her husband from the hand of a stronger man, and reaching out to take her private parts, you shall cut off her hand, and you shall not be moved by any mercy toward her. You will not have in your bag different weights, greater or less and there shall be no greater or lesser measure in your house. You shall have a just and true weight, and a measure shall be equal and true to you: that you may live a long time in the land which the Lord your God shall give you. For your Lord loathes him who does these things, and turns away from all unrighteousness. Remember what Amalekites did to you on the road when you came out of Egypt. how he met you, and the rear of your army, who sat weary, shall fall, when you were worn out with hunger and toil, and did not fear God. When therefore the Lord your God gives you rest, and subdues all the nations round about in the land which he promised you, you shall destroy his name from under heaven. Take heed that you do not forget.
