Love therefore the Lord your God, and keep his statutes, and his statutes, his judgments, and his commandments, at all times.

Know this day the things which your children have not known, who have not seen the discipline of the Lord your God, his great works, and his mighty hand, and his outstretched arm.

the signs and works which he did in the midst of Egypt to Pharaoh king and all his land

and to all the army of the Egyptians, and their horses and chariots: how the waters of the Red Sea covered them, when they pursued after you, and the Lord destroyed them until this day:

And what he did in the wilderness until you came to this place

and Dathan and Abiron, the sons of Eliab, who was the son of Ruben: whom the earth, with his mouth open, swallowed up, with their houses, and tents, and all their substance, which they had in the midst of Israel.

Your eyes have seen the great works of the Lord that he did

that you may keep all his commandments, which I command you today, so that you may be able to enter and possess the land into which you are going,

and you shall live a long time in it: which the Lord promised under an oath to your fathers, and to their seed, flowing with milk and honey.

For the land into which you went to possess it is not like the land of Egypt, out of which you came, where, after the seed was cast, waters are drawn up in the manner of gardens;

but it is mountainous and plain, from heaven waiting for rain

which the Lord your God always visits, and his eyes are on it from the beginning of the year to the end of it.

If therefore you will obey my commandments, which I command you today, to love the Lord your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,

He will give early and late rain to your land, to gather corn, and wine, and oil,

and hay from the fields to pasture your cattle, and you may eat and be satisfied.

Take heed lest your heart be deceived, and depart from the Lord, and serve other gods, and adore them:

And the Lord being angry would shut the heavens, and let not the rain come down, nor give the earth its seed, and you shall perish quickly from the good land which the Lord will give you.

Place these my words in your hearts and minds, and hang them for a sign on your hands, and place them between your eyes.

Teach your children to meditate on them: when you sit in your house, and walk by the way, and lie down, and get up.

Write them on the posts and doors of your house

that your days may be multiplied, and that your children may be in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers to give to them as long as the heaven above the earth.

For if you keep the commandments which I command you, and do them, to love the Lord your God, and walk in all his ways, clinging to him,

The Lord will destroy all these nations before your face, and you shall possess them, which are greater and stronger than you.

Every place that your foot treads shall be yours. Your boundaries shall be from the desert, and from Lebanon, from the great river Euphrates to the western sea.

No man shall stand up against you: the Lord your God shall cause your fear and dread upon all the land which you shall tread upon, as he has spoken to you.

Here's a blessing and a curse to resolve in front of you today:

a blessing if you will obey the commands of the Lord your God which I command you today

a curse if you will not obey the commands of the Lord your God, but turn away from the way that I am now showing you, and walk after other gods which you do not know.

But when the Lord your God brings you into the land into which you are going to dwell, you shall place the blessing on Mount Gerizim, and the curse on Mount Ebal.

which are on the other side of the Jordan, after the way that faces the setting of the sun, in the land of the Canaanite, who dwells in the plains over against Gilgal, which is near the valley leading and entering in the distance.

For you shall pass over the Jordan, to possess the land which the Lord your God will give you, that you may have and possess it.

Take heed therefore that you fulfill the ceremonies and judgments which I will set before you today.
